Thanks for visiting the Bournemouth Photography website. The first thing that you'll notice is that it's not finished yet! There are plenty of links to pages that I haven't added information to, but I think by looking at the navigation bar on the left you'll get a good idea about what it will be like when it is finished. I know it's not good practice to publish a website before everything is complete but I'm impatient and this is no ordinary website. Think of it more like an organized blog. As I'm learning about the skills required to take better photos I'm writing about my experiences. It may be of interest to others but then again it may not be. At least when I'm looking to hire a studio or a model then I know where I can find the information. I'm not a professional photographer, just an enthusiastic amateur. I'm not even a writer although you've probably guessed that by now. With help from my wife I actually run a travel company organizing treks in Peru but I won't try to promote it as I'm already as busy as I want to be! (a nice position to be in these days). Taking photos and writing this website is my form of relaxation and escape from the pressures of emails piling up in my inbox. I like to think of myself as totally independent from the photography business so I can include links to local photographers, studios & models based only on merit. I'm usually fairly busy with my day job during the winter months but will be able to dedicate more time to the website as from April. I will try to get most of the website complete by the end of this year (2012) although this may be wishful thinking and I have a feeling it may go on for a lot longer. By the way if you were thinking that the photos are good on this page (and throughout the site) it's because most of them aren't mine! Many are stock photos that I've carefully selected to inspire you (and photos that inspire me for that matter). And, yes, I did obtain the stock photos legitimately and have a license to publish them on the web - just in case you were thinking about asking! As I start to learn more about taking better photos then I might get more confident and start to include more of my own work. We'll see what happens. Anyway I hope that you enjoy this website and keep coming back as I add more to it over the next few weeks and months.
